The Dressing Room ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you save and track fashion items from online stores. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

The Dressing Room only collects and stores the following information locally on your device:

• Product Information: Product names, prices, images, and URLs from websites you choose to save
• Store Names: The retailers/websites where saved products are from
• Price History: Historical price data for items you've saved to track price changes
• User Preferences: Your sorting preferences, favorited items, and brand filters
• Timestamps: When items were saved or updated

3. How We Use Your Information

All data collected is used solely to provide the extension's functionality:

• Display your saved fashion items in the extension popup
• Track price changes for saved items
• Filter and sort your saved items
• Compare items side-by-side

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored locally using Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local).

• Your data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers
• We do not have access to your saved items or browsing data
• Data persists only within your browser and is tied to your Chrome profile
• Uninstalling the extension will remove all stored data

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share, sell, rent, or transmit your data to any third parties.

• No analytics services
• No advertising networks
• No external servers or databases
• No data collection services

Note: When you click links to visit product pages, you are subject to those websites' privacy policies, not ours.

6. Permissions Explained

The Dressing Room requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: To save your items and preferences locally on your device
• activeTab: To detect product information when you click the save button on a product page
• scripting: To inject the save button on websites you're browsing

These permissions are used only to provide core functionality and do not enable us to access your personal information, browsing history, or any data outside the extension's scope.

7. Automatic Price Checking

When you use the "Refresh Prices" feature:

• The extension fetches public product pages to check current prices
• These requests are made directly from your browser to the retailer websites
• We do not collect or store any information from these requests beyond the updated price
• You control when price checks occur - they are not automatic

8. Children's Privacy

The Dressing Room is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Your Rights and Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View Your Data: All saved items are visible in the extension popup
• Delete Individual Items: Remove items using the delete button
• Delete All Data: Use the "Clear All" button to remove all saved items
• Export Data: While we don't currently offer export, your data is stored in Chrome's local storage and can be accessed via browser developer tools
• Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all associated data
